The leather cuff measures approximately 11/16 inches wide and will be custom cut to fit your wrist size entry. Thickness is approximately 3 U.S. quarters or 3/16″.
MEASURING INSTRUCTIONS:
To measure your wrist you can use either tailors measuring tape, or a strip of paper wrapped around your wrist then measured with a ruler (Don’t use string or anything else as it can warp). Just make sure not to pull it tight as this will skew the size to be too small. Instead, the measuring tape or string should lay on your skin and feel snug with light pressure. It is better to get a barely tight size than a loose one because you can work the leather by hand slightly if you need it to stretch – but only minimally.
BUTTON FINISH:
Buttons are all solid brass as a base metal. The Silver and Gunmetal have a nickel plating on them.
EDGE OPTIONS:
REGULAR – I hand bevel the edges and they remain untreated.
WAXED – After hand beveling, the edges are then slicked and burnished smooth. I then apply a layer of wax which is hand-polished into the edge. This creates a nice, clean look, pleasing to the eye.
DYED – This option can be chosen along with the above. The edges will be darkened with black dye. It’s a nice touch with the brown leather especially. You do not need to select this option if you are ordering a black leather cuff.
SPIKE OPTIONS:
I use a unique and rare style of spike made from solid metal (typical ones are actually hollow and flimsy). I selected specific 316 grade stainless steel for the screw backings so that they will not corrode against sweaty skin.
PYRAMID SPIKES – Made from a solid metal base alloy, I offer two color finishes: silver or golden plated.
CONE SPIKES – Made from solid brass base and available in silver or gunmetal which are plated, or golden which is solid brass.
RIVETS – These are a solid brass base metal and available in Silver or Golden finish.
PERSONALIZATION:
You can optionally have your name or initials stamped or branded into the cuff (for non-spike versions). For more info and photos of what that looks like check out this page on personalization.
Please note that we only use the best Full-Grain leather in our shop and it is tooled by hand. This means there may be the occasional natural scar or marking that occurred during the cow’s lifetime, as well as some subtle tooling marks. It’s just a testament to the hand-worked leather. Colors may vary slightly from the photos due to the dye process used.
