patina on leather wallet

This week’s customer photo is from Larry N. showing off his Men’s Leather Wallet after 5 months of use. The original color selected was Sun Tanned Natural and this wallet looks like it is well on the path to developing a rich patina. The golden color is formed simply by using the wallet every day. The oils in your hands, the exposure to sunlight, and rubbing in your pocket and other surfaces causes the darkening and a story to form on the exterior of the wallets I make. It is truly unlike any leather you may have experienced through your lifetime. I use American tanned, Full-Grain leather, purchased from the top U.S. tannery still in existence. This wallet you see here may easily serve its owner for the next 10+ years. The solid brass rivets bind the wallet together so there is really nothing to wear out. Simple, durable and made right here in my small U.S. workshop – these wallets make a great gift for those that appreciate handcrafted items built to last. Thanks for the photo Larry! If you like this design, you can find it here.
